Bureau of Labor Statistics

Census Bureau Economic Statistics - Includes statistics for the U.S., individual states and smaller geographic area. Conducted every five years for every industry.  Also provides monthly and quarterly national economic indicators and other statistics, including county business, enterprise statistics, wholesale and retail trade, etc.

Federal Reserve System Economic Research & Data - researches and publishes many types of data related to the U.S. economy, consumers, production, monetary policy, etc.  Includes links to Federal Reserve District Banks, which also publish various types of information based on data collected by staff economists and researchers.
