Handy Topics in the Curriculum Department

Welcome to the Juvenile Literature page.

Here, you will find handy topics related to the Juvenile Literature collection.  The Juvenile Literature collection is quite possibly the largest collection housed in the Curriculum Department.  It is also knows as the Nebraska Archive of Children's Books, and as such, this collection features award winning books, as well as books that span the decades and a variety of topics. 

These books are situated on shelves near the Curriculum Department, along with other educational resources and non-book materials.

Other items that could be included in this collection are house in the Juvenile Graphic Novels and Big Books collections.

The lists linked below all feature titles from the Juvenile Literature collection of the Calvin T. Ryan Library.  This collection is both current and historical.  As such, there are books on these lists that contain stereotypes, descriptions, and terminology that are now recognized as offensive.  Inclusion on these lists does not condone the use of stereotypes, archaic terms, and descriptions.
