The purpose of exhibits and displays in the library is to enrich the educational, informational, and recreational quality of life of all library patrons. Displays should focus on educational, informational, or artistic content and should not serve as platforms for personal opinions, political endorsements, or advocacy.
The Calvin T. Ryan Library does not guarantee that all viewpoints will be represented in a single display. Display approvals are based on relevance to the academic community, educational value, and adherence to library guidelines. The library reserves the right to approve or deny displays that do not meet these criteria.
Only campus organizations or members of the campus community may request to build a book display. Displays must have a sign announcing the topic and sponsoring individual’s or group’s contact information, approved via the Dean’s Office.
Exhibits are displayed for two weeks. In order to allow for the greatest variety of displays, groups and/or individuals are limited to one display per school year. Displays must be scheduled in advance; requests should be made to the library at least one month in advance.
Final approval is at the sole discretion of the Dean of the Library.
